What should I do when I am going on a trip and will be using a bicycle other than my own?
How to transfer the ride position from your bicycle to the borrowed bicycle.
Before you go on the trip, grab a 3 x 5 card, a tape measure and a two foot level. Then write down the following measurements:
- The distance from the back of your saddle to the center
of your handle bar.
- The distance from the top of your saddle to the center
of the pedal spindle with the crank at the bottom of the stroke inline with
the seat tube.
- Measure the vertical drop distance from the nose of
the saddle to the top of the handle bar. This can be accomplished by resting
the edge of a two foot level on the nose of the saddle, extending it out
level over the handle bars and measuring the vertical drop distance from
the bottom of the level to the handle bar.

Take these measurments and transfer them as accurately as you can to the bicyle you are borrowing. Then enjoy your ride!
If you are not sure of what your proper bike riding position should be, we recommend that you consult a Fit Kit Dealer to arrange for a bike fitting session. We invite you to use our U.S. Store Locator or International Store Locator to find the dealer nearest you.
